What are the lighting methods of catering? Lighting methods include: general lighting, zoning lighting, local lighting and mixed lighting. Restaurant lighting mainly adopts general lighting, local lighting and mixed lighting.


A. General lighting is to illuminate the whole interior of the restaurant without considering local lighting, so that the illumination of the dining environment and dining table surface is roughly uniform. This is the lighting method often used in restaurants with simple style and relatively popular customer base.


B. Mixed lighting is a combination of general lighting with uniform illumination and local lighting for dining surface. This lighting method has a strong sense of hierarchy and forms a lighting space that only belongs to the guest. It is often used in the lighting methods of medium and high-end restaurants.


C. Local lighting: it is a lighting method used to emphasize specific targets. Usually refers to a point or a small area. Bars and cafes are often used. Through local key lighting, people's attention will be attracted to places with cultural atmosphere and emotional appeal, so as to form a visual interest center, so as to create the bar's own personality.


Light color and color rendering of restaurant lighting


In the lighting design of the restaurant, regardless of the illuminance, low color temperature light source should be selected, because people are used to working in white and bright light, and form the body mechanism of high-frequency breathing and heartbeat under this condition. On the contrary, in the evening, people are used to sitting around the warm campfire to communicate and rest. At this time, people will be in a low-frequency breathing, relaxed and comfortable body mechanism. Most restaurants want to create a comfortable and warm dining environment. It is recommended to use warm color light source for catering spotlight. In this way, not only a warm and pleasant atmosphere will be formed indoors, the warm light knot overflowing from the transparent glass window and the lively dining crowd will form a moving picture, but also attract pedestrians on the road to dinner.


In addition to the color rendering of indoor and outdoor lighting, it is another important indicator of its light source design. In order to make the color of food and beverage realistic, the color rendering index Ra of catering indoor lighting source shall not be less than 80. Because the warm color lighting environment with high Ra value can make food (such as meat and vegetables) look more fresh and attractive.
